“We Back Pat” is raising Alzheimer's awareness by showing support for Coach Pat Summitt. The organization came together during the college basketball season after Summitt, the head coach of the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team, was diagnosed with early onset dementia in August.

Obama's $80 Million Alzheimer's Donation: Salvation or Smokescreen?

Recently, the U.S. President announced an $80 million boost to Alzheimer's research funding. Michael Ellenbogen lives with Alzheimer's and is a vocal Alzheimer's advocate. He asks, "Everywhere you turn, you see something related to Cancer and HIV. Our government contributes 18.7% of the NIH research budget to cancer, 9.9% to HIV, and just 1.4% to Alzheimer's. Why so little for Alzheimer's? There are many more people living with Alzheimer's than HIV, yet it receives much less funding. More funding is desperately needed.
