My Dad had Alzheimer's and ultimately died of it after many long, torturous years. It ravaged all he had been in life.
I was lucky. I was a nurse and understood the disease implicitly. I also devoted 17 years of my career working in the field of Alzheimer's in direct hands on care of patients with this disease. I never regretted one day of it. It is part of my life long career that I hold dear.
