Hi Mario,

Welcome to our site.

When medications are prescribed to treat Alzheimer's, they are used primarily to retard the progression of the disease or to help manage behavioral problems.  Physicians prescribing these medications will take many factors into account, including the stage of the disease and  the overall health of the individual.  There is a saying that goes, "when you have seen one person with Alzheimer's, you have seen one person with Alzheimer's.  This means that each person who suffers from Alzheimer's responds differently.  The disease progresses differently in each person and each person responds differently to medications or a grouping of medications.

What I recommend, is that you learn as much as you can about the medications out there.  One way to do that is to read.  On our site we have an entire library devoted to medications and supplements.  You can get to the Medications and Supplements Library by clicking here.
