Pesticides (DDT) and Alzheimer’s

PREVENTION VIDEO:

Researchers say the breakdown products from pesticides lead to increased risk of Alzheimer’s. This video will show you how to use diet to avoid them.

A research study at Rutgers University found blood levels of DDE (also used as a pesticide but formed as a breakdown product from DDT) led to increased risk of Alzheimer’s as much as if you actually have the APOE4 “Alzheimer’s gene”. This video will show you how to avoid it.

“Conclusions and relevance: Elevated serum DDE levels are associated with an increased risk for AD and carriers of an APOE4 ε4 allele may be more susceptible to the effects of DDE. Both DDT and DDE increase amyloid precursor protein levels, providing mechanistic plausibility for the association of DDE exposure with AD. Identifying people who have elevated levels of DDE and carry an APOE ε4 allele may lead to early identification of some cases of AD,” the researchers said.
