The iPod program that Music & Memory provides in nursing homes is wonderful for people with dementia. Family caregivers at home can do the same thing if they have an iPod. Another great tool to use music to trigger memories and "awaken" individuals is called LifeSongs. It's a recordable photo album where you make 12 pages of picture collages telling a person's life story. Then you record a favorite song for each of the 12 pages. The multi-sensory approach for reminiscing is highly successful. Visit http://www.LifeSongs.info to learn more and for purchasing details.
